What a great day on the South Fork of the American River today! The flows were looking spectacular and our boats were looking in sync. Our crews seemed to have such rythem on their forward paddles through even the most exciting rapids. It was a great day indeed, with more to come from these excellent rafters! More to update tomorrow with the second day Chili Bar Run!

Lazy Wednesdays
No Water Wednesdays means a nice relaxing day for the American River South Fork guides. That means that there's no road trip this week. Nope, we're laying low and taking it easy. Maybe we'll work on our kickin tan lines...humm now there's a thought.

Happy 4th of July
Just wishing everone a happy 4th of July! The American River is running with great flows and I must admit, the water feels exceptionally refreshing! Every day is a great day for rafting, especially those hot summer ones, so come on out and reserve your place on the South Fork or the Middle Fork today!

Heading South for our day off.
The Whitewater Connection Staff had another day off, and what did we do? We traveled South to the Kaweah River for another adventure. It wasn't quite as exciting as the first road trip however since the flows were pretty low, but it did make for a good skill tester since low flows typically makes for a more technical run. For now though, we are back in Coloma running usual South and Middle Forks of the American River. There's no place like home, and there's nothing like that good old fashioned summer heat!

Road Trippin
The staff just arrived back in camp from an exciting day trip to the Trinity River, and oh what an adventure it was. The five hour car ride left us antsy and ready to conquor the Class IV and V rapids, and before we knew it, we were on our way down the Burnt Ranch Gorge section of the river. It was a day of new oppertunities and excitement for all of those who attended, I even got the opportunity to swim a Class V rapid! I'll check that one off of the life's list!

Summer heat meets the American River
Summer is heating up, but thankfully we've got the American River to keep us cool. We were all thankful for the lower run of the South Fork today as we were guided down by guides Chris and Nicole. No one hesitated to slide in the water in between rapids for a relaxing swim. I'd say that it was a perfect day to be on the river! What could be better than sunshine and nice cold refreshing water?
